Twin Cities Birth Center + Women's Health Clinic

Midwifery Fellow – Fall 2026

Twin Cities Birth Center + Women's Health Clinic (TCBC), located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is accepting applications for a Midwifery Fellow (LM/CPM or CNM) to join our team.

Designed for new graduate and early-career midwives, our nine-month fellowship provides the mentorship, clinical experience, and support needed to transition confidently into independent practice.

As a Midwifery Fellow, you will gain hands-on experience in:

  • Prenatal care

  • Labor and birth

  • Postpartum and newborn care

  • Women's health

  • Out-of-hospital birth center practice

  • Collaborative care alongside experienced LM/CPMs and CNMs

Start Date: Fall 2026

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be a graduate of a MEAC-accredited CPM program or an AMCB-accredited CNM program

  • Commit to the nine-month fellowship

  • Hold current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification

  • Hold current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

  • Have reliable transportation and be able to arrive at the birth center within 30 minutes while on call

  • Have reliable cell phone and internet access

  • Be able to lift 50 pounds

  • Be able to repeatedly navigate stairs

  • Be physically able to attend births in a variety of positions, including kneeling, squatting, and hands-and-knees

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable using electronic health record (EHR) systems

  • Possess a warm, professional demeanor and a passion for providing family-centered care in an out-of-hospital birth center setting

Part-Time Midwife (CPM or CNM)

Location: Twin Cities Birth Center + Women’s Health Clinic, St. Paul, Minnesota
Job Type: Part-Time • Available Now
Compensation: Competitive compensation based on experience

Position Summary

The Part-Time Midwife provides comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, birth, postpartum, and newborn care within our accredited freestanding birth center. This role includes both clinic responsibilities and on-call birth attendance while working alongside an experienced team dedicated to safe, individualized care.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide prenatal, labor, birth, postpartum, and newborn care.

  • Conduct routine prenatal visits including assessment, education, and counseling.

  • Attend births and provide safe, evidence-based intrapartum care.

  • Provide postpartum follow-up, newborn assessments, and lactation support.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in Athena EMR.

  • CNMs may provide well-person and women's health care.

  • Participate in meetings, drills, and AABC PDR documentation.

Qualifications

  • CPM/LM or CNM licensed (or eligible) in Minnesota.

  • Current CPR, NRP, and required certifications.

  • Birth center or home birth experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Commitment to relationship-centered, evidence-based care.

  • Live within 30 minutes while on-call.

  • Comfort using or learning Athena EMR.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Navigate stairs repeatedly.

  • Provide care in varied birth positions including kneeling, squatting, water birth, and hands-and-knees.

Part-Time Women’s Health Clinician (CNM, WHNP, or FNP)

Location: Twin Cities Birth Center + Women’s Health Clinic, St. Paul, Minnesota
Job Type: Part-Time 

Position Summary

Provide comprehensive outpatient care for adolescents and adults in a relationship-centered practice. This position focuses on whole-person care across the lifespan and offers the opportunity to participate in our growing Functional Medicine Program in collaboration with our Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Nutritionist.

Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
No on-call hours

Primary Responsibilities

  • Well-person and preventive care

  • Women's health care throughout the lifespan

  • Acute illness evaluation and treatment

  • Chronic disease management

  • Contraceptive counseling and management

  • Menopause and hormone care

  • Lifestyle medicine and health coaching

  • Opportunity to provide Functional Medicine care

  • Collaborate with an experienced interdisciplinary team

  • Maintain accurate documentation in Athena EMR

Qualifications

  • CNM, WHNP, or FNP

  • Minnesota license (or eligibility)
